Mitchell Manuel

Mitchell Manuel is a New Zealand based artist of Cook Island Māori, Tahitian, Scottish and Portuguese descent. He was born and raised in Tāmaki-makau-rau Auckland.

Mitch is an innovative, multi-talented creative with a background in film and television (actor, writer); digital art; textile design and fashion. 

Mitch’s work - created digitally - explores, celebrates, and expresses whakapapa and cultural connections between Māori and Scottish people. He draws upon the iconic visual symbolism of tartan and the koru.
