Owie Simpson

I move from part realism to expressionistic work and back again. I am known for my Expressionistic oil paintings, Big Sky and Whitebaiter landscapes, Fertility dolls, Holy Cows and Mother Nature figures.

I studied Art and Art History to University entrance level.  I have a Bachelor of Commerce from Victoria University, Wellington.

2 years with Roberto Paulet at Inverlochy Art School, completing his master's class.  This was the start of 18 years of painting and printmaking.

I have traveled to many countries and along the way have become fascinated with other cultures, in particular ethnic beliefs especially relating to fertility. I have completed 3 series relating to that.
