Zoe Marsden

Zoë Marsden is an English contemporary artist living in Wellington, New Zealand. 

 

Her current series of oil paintings are nostalgic depictions of everyday places in the UK. 

They are areas often fleetingly passed through, overlooked or neglected.

These scenes, portrayed in high detail, are re-presented to us with a stillness and emptiness that requires us to stop and take a second look. We feel alone and seemingly frozen in a moment of time. Perhaps an event has just passed or is about to happen. 

 

Zoë obtained her Bachelor of Fine Art at Bath School of Art and Design and her Postgraduate Diploma in Scenic Painting at Bristol Old Vic.

Alongside her Fine Art practice, Zoe has worked as a Painter and Prosthetic Make-Up Artist in film and television for the past 18 years.
